Installation Instructions: (Follow this link...)
Theater Seating Installation Instructions for the True Rocker Style Seating
Available Dimensions:
Height: 40.50” is the most popular. Available: 34.75", 37.75" and the 40.50”
Width: 22 ¾ ” is the most popular width. Available 22.75 to 24”. in .25" increments.
(Chair shown on website is 22 ¾ -inches wide, and 40.50-inches tall.)
Depth of the chair:
With a 40.50-inch back…
24 ¼” (with the seats bottom cushion in the up position, also know as ‘seat up envelope”).
29 ¼ (with the seats bottom cushion in the down position, also know as ‘seat down envelope”).
With a 34 ¾ -inch back…
27 ¾ ” (with the seats bottom cushion in the up position, also know as ‘seat up envelope”).
Chair rocks back: < Up to 6 inches. (Depending on size and weight of person sitting in the chair).
The rocking mechanism is adjustable. There is a screw, located in the most forward position going through the rubber spring mechanism. Tightening this screw will reduce the amount of rocking motion the chair has. The screw is set into the ‘loosest’ position from the factory. In other words if you want the maximum amount of range-of-motion of the rocking you do not need to touch or mess with the adjustment screw at all. Just leave it alone.
Back-to-back spacing:
All you have to do is attach the back and the seat to the legs. The screws to do this are included in the hardware that you receive.
The hardware used to attach the chairs to your floor or base, however are not included. You must obtain them locally.
Assembly and installation:
Because the Galaxy Rocker is a real theater seat, it is designed and built to be assembled quickly and easy. (Multiplexes have thousands of seats, and the theater seating installers must install those theater seats quickly so that the theaters do not have a lengthy down time.)
The chairs feet bolt to the floor or riser decking. To assemble the back and seat assemblies to the legs, only 4 nuts per chair are needed. This hardware is provided with each chair. The nuts can be found hand tightened onto the rocker mechanisms threaded posts. They come this way from the factory, so as to prevent them from being lost. Installation questions?

3 common mistakes architects make:
1. Chair width dimension is provided as center to center (center of leg / armrest to center to leg / armrest). Sometimes architects do not take into consideration the additional 6-8 inches that need to be added to each row length, to take into account ‘the other half of the armrest’.
2. Some chairs are ordered with end panels, even though they are to be placed along side a wall. So don’t forget to leave room to put on the end panel. Leave room to slide the end panel in, along the wall, so it can be installed, or replaced if ever the need arises. Plus during the installation of the chairs back it is much easier to do if the end panel is put on after the back and seat assemblies are attached to the legs.
3. The architect forgets to take into consideration wall treatments, railings, and or sound deadening boards, when determining the legally allowed minimum aisle width.
